The Cast are the stars of the stage and work within the direction of the creative team to bring the show to life! The Cast are volunteers who participate for the enjoyment they receive through theatrical performance. Cast members are not paid for participating in the production.
All cast are expected to:
Commit themselves to the production and all rehearsals
Be on time for all rehearsals and performances
Learn lines as quickly as possible
Cooperate with the production team
Accept the Director’s advice in the spirit it is given for they are ultimately responsible for the performance and oversee the production as a whole
Accept that you may not be able to control what content is or isn’t in the show and/or how content is performed
Be aware that the Director, Choreographer, Vocal Director and Production Manager are the only persons who should direct actors. Actors should not direct other actors in the production.
Summer School enables hands-on experience of the reality of a major performing arts production – a “full season” in the theatre – somewhat different to the short runs most college or school productions entail.
Rehearsals leading up to the bump-in of the production will be held at The Old Nick Company, 50A Letitia Street North Hobart.
The Mt Nelson Theatre will be the performance venue for this year’s production, more information on the venue and arrangements whilst in the space will be provided closer to moving into the theatre.
The cast participation fee is $250 including GST for cast. This covers your insurance and includes a contribution towards tutor’s fees and a souvenir show top. An invoice will be sent to your email in the coming days.
Tickets are onsale, you can purchase them by going to the Old Nick Company website.
No-one gets free tickets – sorry – but for the production to be viable this is essential.
