You will move from the rehearsal space to the theatre in the week prior to opening night. At this time the cast and crew help to load the hired trucks and vans and take the set, props and any other equipment to the theatre to be set up. This is known as ‘bump in’.
Usually, a safety induction will be required by the theatre. You will be provided with a tour of the facility, allocated a dressing room and may need to support and follow instructions from the production team to get the theatre ready for the show.
Top Tip: Once you are ‘bumped in’ to the theatre - do not take anything home with you.
Place in your dressing room enough blacks, socks, underwear, phone chargers and anything you might need for the entire show season. You don’t want to be that person who has left a critical costume at home having forgotten to bring it back to the theatre after washing it.
