Each year Summer School runs for approximately three weeks in Hobart and one week in Launceston. The order of the show runs changes each year and is based on availability of the theatres. The production team will provide you with a thorough briefing several weeks out from the Launceston show run.
Most cast and crew will need to take at least 4-6 days off work in order to complete the Launceston shows, so please factor this into your decision making when applying for an audition.
Cast will be provided with call times, however, there will be down time between shows and rehearsals. Cast members are free to make their own arrangements outside of the required times or often there may be self-organised outings, massages or dinners for those who wish to participate.
The production manager will arrange for appropriate accommodation in Launceston at no cost to cast members. Generally, rooms are shared between two. If possible, a meeting or other function room will be booked to act as a ‘common area' for cast and crew to relax between shows, so you may like to bring a bean bag, board games or anything else to make this space more enjoyable.
The production manager will confirm the transport arrangements, generally, it is self-arranged carpooling between cast members. Note that an expense reimbursement will be provided to all cast and production members to cover the cost of food, fuel and other expenses associated with travelling to and from Launceston.
